Free Carpet Buying Information and Advice by Consumer Advocate
By Alan Fletcher, 30-year veteran of the carpet business.
I’ve read virtually all the free Carpet Buying Guides and brochures that are available on the market and on the internet today and I find that they seem to lack something that is very important to any homeowner in the market for new carpet or flooring products.
What do they lack you ask?
As helpful as they might seem at first glance, there is only limited information provided to help consumers make wise and informed choices. They point out all the positive qualities of the various types of carpet and carpet styles but fail to point out all the negative aspects that homeowners really need to know about.
For example, did you know that looped Berber styles can be a wonderful choice for many homeowners if chosen wisely, installed properly and the correct padding is selected. But what they don’t tell you is that children and pets can easily snag the loops causing them to come loose and easily ruin the carpet very quickly. This type of carpet damage is difficult and costly to repair and the carpet warranty does not cover snagged or pulled loops.
But there’s more…
There are dozens of ways for dishonest carpet retailers to cheat homeowners and overcharge them by hundreds or even thousand of dollars. Most homeowners don’t have a clue how to recognize them or avoid carpet scams.
None of the carpet buying guides I’ve read mention anything about avoiding common carpet scams and rip-offs, but I do and it’s all revealed on my website.
I expose the carpet industry for what it is, and help unsuspecting homeowners learn enough key information to choose new carpet wisely, get a fair and square deal and make sure your new carpet is installed properly.
With thousands of carpet types and styles to choose from and limited access to accurate carpet specifications, buying new carpet is not as easy as most folks think. This is why it is absolutely critical that homeowners have free and unfettered access to honest and complete carpet information.
